Oatmeal Drum

This is a good project for a large group of children when you pre-cut the paper and have each child bring in an oatmeal box.

Materials Needed:
Empty 42 ounce oatmeal box
18" x 9 1/2" piece of blue paper
Two 1" x 18" strips of red paper
Four 1" x 12" strips of red paper
Two circles of red or blue paper, the same size as top and bottom of box.
Glue stick

Directions:

1. Use the glue stick to attach the blue paper around the oatmeal box, completely covering the outside.

2. Glue circles of paper onto each end of the box.

3. Glue onto one side of box two 1" x 12" strips of red paper, in the shape of an X. Do the same on the opposite side of the box.

3. On the top rib of the box glue one 18" strip of paper around the box. Do the same on the bottom edge of the box with the remaining 18" strip.
