Sock Puppet

Something to do with that unmatched sock!

Materials Needed:
Adult size sock
Plastic bottle filled with sand (about 12" high)
White glue (poured into a small paper cup)
Toothpicks
Two buttons
Yarn
2" x 1/2" piece of red felt
Assorted fabric scraps
Scissors

Directions:
1. Pull sock over bottle, stop about three inches from the end of the sock's toe. (Bottle is used to support sock while you create the puppet.
2. Fold sock toe down. Under the toe's fold will be the puppet's mouth. The outside area of the sock toe will be the puppet's face.
3. Use toothpick to apply glue.
4. Cut red felt into shape of tongue and glue under fold.
5. Use buttons for eyes and cut yarn for hair and fabric scraps to create clothing.
6. Allow to dry before removing from bottle. Don't soak with glue or your puppet will stick to the bottle.
