Orange and Clove Pomander

This fragrant and decorative holiday craft will make a delightful gift for grandma or a favorite aunt. It is also a great way to keep little hands busy when you are occupied with your own holiday chores. While it does not take much supervision, it is not a good craft for very small children, who are tempted to pop small, aromatic items into their mouth.

Materials Needed::
Orange
Whole Cloves
Long, thick screw
Ribbon

Directions:
Have an adult carefully twist the screw into the top of the orange, at the point where it was once connected to the tree. Leave approximately 1/4 inch visible and fasten the ribbon around it, tying into a decorative bow. This will later be used to hand the orange.

Direct the child to punch cloves into the orange skin. Begin at one spot, and place them side by side, touching. Continue, until the entire outside of the orange is covered. No orange should be showing.

Orange pomander will be a fragrant holiday decoration to hang indoors.
